Our Guide to Trunk Shows

With just two weeks until our Pronovias 2021 Collection Trunk Show, we thought it might be a good idea to tell you a little more about what you can expect from this event.

Trunk show 101

Some of you may have seen this term being thrown around on the beautiful Instagram feed of your favourite boutique, but I’m sure it’s fair to say that many of us nodded, smiled and were then hit with images of Victorian ladies pulling wedding dresses out of huge wooden chests…No? Just me?

Well, it isn’t far wrong (minus the Victorian ladies…) - the term does come from the fact that these dresses are normally transported to events in trunks! Just not of the wooden kind…

So, what is a trunk show?

Well, at any one time, we stock a selection of dresses from a number of different designers. However as much we would love to stock all of their stunning dresses, we just don’t have the space. So, every so often, we will host a trunk show for a particular designer where we will have more of their dresses in the boutique for you to try on.

Trunk show FAQs

: Of course! We will take an order for a dress that is visiting us and everything will get completed in the same way it would if you were ordering one of our more permanent dresses.
: It depends on the designer but normally for a weekend.
: Most of the time we will get the whole of that designer’s new collection but, if not, we will release a list of the dresses which are available to try.
: We will normally offer 10% off all of that designer’s dresses for the duration of the event. So it means you can have those dreamy Bella Belle shoes you’ve always wanted…!
: Apart from the discount?! Having the chance to see a whole incredible collection in the flesh and having even more choice! This is particularly beneficial to those brides who know they like a particular designer and want to have a wider range of dresses to choose from rather than having to visit a number of different boutiques.
: Your consultation will be 90 minutes which is the same as our normal consultations. We offer a one-to-one service where you will have our undivided attention and benefit from our honest styling expertise.
: Nope! You have free run of the boutique and can select dresses from any other designer to try.
: You can find these under the ‘Events’ page on our website and we will be shouting it from the rooftops on Instagram & Facebook as we wouldn’t want anyone to miss out on these fantastic events. Follow us to stay up-to-date!
